Delete account – C&C Chess Club

This is a translation for convenience. The German version is the authoritative one; where the two differ, the German text applies.

The C&C Chess Club app (at.amon.chessgames) can be used entirely without an account. You only need an account for the club features: member list, shared fixtures, club links, club crest and chat.

Deleting your account in the app

Open the app and tap "Me" at the bottom right, then "My profile". In the "Club account" card you will find "Delete account". After a confirmation the account is deleted immediately and permanently. There is no waiting period and no recovery.

Deleting your account without the app

Send an e-mail to amonandi@hotmail.com from the address you signed in with. Deletion takes place within 30 days, usually much sooner.

What is deleted

your display name
your e-mail address
the address of your Google profile picture
your Google identifier
your club membership
your FIDE ID and the ratings fetched with it, unless someone else has the same ID on file
all messages you wrote in the club chat
all images you uploaded to the club chat
all your direct conversations, completely and for both sides
which club puzzles you marked as solved
all sign-in sessions and signed-in devices
your running games and open challenges

If you are the last member of your club, the club is deleted as well, including its fixtures, links and crest.

On direct conversations: such a conversation belongs to two people and makes no sense without one of them. It is therefore removed entirely – including the messages and images of the other person. Anyone who still needs something from it should save it before deleting.

What is kept

Your chess games, analyses, saved positions, training progress, ideas and settings stay on your device. This data was never on the server and needs no account. If you want to remove it too, uninstall the app – that removes all of it.

Finished games you played in the app against club members remain on the server, because a game always belongs to two people – it still counts in the record of your former opponent. Your name is permanently replaced there by "Deleted account", and your FIDE ID is removed as well; it is no longer possible to trace the game back to you.

Club fixtures, club links and the club crest are kept as long as the club still has other members. This content belongs to the club, not to the person who entered it.

Image crops and scoresheet photos you voluntarily donated to improve scan recognition are stored without any link to your account and therefore cannot be matched automatically when the account is deleted. On request to amonandi@hotmail.com I delete them.

Retention

The data is removed from the database immediately and is not archived. A backup of the database is made once a day; it remains on the same server and is deleted automatically after 14 days. At most 14 days after your deletion your data has therefore also disappeared from all backups.
